~ Deputy to update Mayor, Council and citizens on any activity in Newborn for the month of October.
A. 2020 Proposed Budget: Mayor & Council to review and discuss:
Advertisement was run in the newspaper for the Public Hearing to be held tonight: PUBLIC HEARING: A hearing, for the benefit of public review and comments, in regards to the proposed 2020 budget (the 2020 budget will be approved aresolution signed at the December 2nd council meeting).
A. Susan Oliveto: Modification of conditional use of special events venue to add Bed & Breakfast: Legal ad was run in the October 20th Covington News as a notice to the public for a conditional use request. Motion:Second:Approved: VI.NEW BUSINESS:
A. Discuss issues of buses parking @ Maintenance Shop: Motion:Second:Approved:
B. Lambert, Reitman & Abney invoice in the amount of $720.00: Motion:Second:Approved:
C. Town to purchase 250 seedlings (under $200) for Arbor Day (Feb. 2020): Motion:Second:Approved
D. Newborn Fall Fest: Shopping at the Historic Schoolhouse, Saturday November 9th – 10am-3pm: vendors both inside and out at the schoolhouse, featuring everything from wood crafts, crochet gifts, milk soaps to jewelry and gourmet dog treats, plus direct sale vendors like Tastefully Simple, Color Street and more!
VII. PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Newborn Code of Ordinance (Sect. 3-206 - 7, 8)
7. Manner of Addressing Council. No member, while the Council is in session, shall speak on any subject unless recognized by the presiding officer. Every speaker shall address the chair, and no member shall interrupt anyone who is speaking, except to call him to order or for explanation. 8. Limitations on Addressing Council. Any person not a member of Council who desires to address the Council shall first secure the permission of the presiding officer, and then shall step up, give his name and address in an audible tone of voice for the record, and direct his remarks to the Council as a body rather than to any particular member, limiting such remarks to five (5) minutes unless additional time is granted by Council.
