unique - historic - affordable

The Historic Newborn Schoolhouse, built in 1923, features an auditorium seating 100, a full kitchen, and a dining room seating up to 75 (or up to 125 with additional seating extending into the auditorium wings and large kitchen area). It can also accommodate 125 guest for a cocktail reception. The facility is handicap accessible and has ample parking. The original wooden floors, ceilings and stage create a wonderful acoustic space.

The schoolhouse is owned and operated as a community center by the town and is one of the few remaining examples of the era. The town has a 501(c)(3) volunteer group of citizens who labor tirelessly to hold festivals, improve the schoolroom museum, and market it. For more information on Newborn Area Heritage Trust, Inc. (NAHT) and the schoolhouse, click here.

Several community events are hosted regularly at the schoolhouse, such as bingo, yard sales and the Annual Hornyhead Festival. See the Events page for upcoming dates.

The schoolhouse is located at 4326 Highway 142, Newborn, GA 30056
